Pratt & Whitney's Waste Heat-to-Power Organic Rankine Cycle Solutions Now Eligible for the California Self-Generation Incentive Program

EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --  Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS), a world leader in Organic Rankine Cycle solutions for waste heat, biomass, geothermal and solar thermal power applications, announced today that its broad offering of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbogenerators are now eligible for the California Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). Under the program, qualifying California utility customers can receive up to a $1,250/kW rebate to help reduce the cost of installing PWPS waste heat-to-power generation equipment. The SGIP was modified under a California Public Utilities Commission decision making Organic Rankine Cycle/Waste Heat to Power systems eligible for the SGIP along with a list of other greenhouse gas-reducing solutions. The SGIP aims to transform the energy marketplace, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and manage peak load performance.
