Precision Door Service Announces Garage Door Energy Tax Credit Resource
TITUSVILLE, Fla., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- With tax day fast approaching and many consumers unaware or uncertain of how to take advantage of the $1,500 Energy Tax Credit, Precision Door Service announced today the launch of an on-line resource to help homeowners of recently purchased garage doors claim their refund.
In order to claim the Energy Tax Credit, consumers need to do two things:
- Know if the door they purchased qualifies
- Obtain a signed certificate from the manufacturer as proof
Home owners who purchased a qualifying garage door in 2009 or 2010 may be eligible for an Energy Tax Credit when filing their taxes. "Many homeowners are either unaware of the tax credit or don't know if their garage door qualifies," says Bill Walden, President of Precision Door Service. "By putting together this resource of qualifying garage doors by manufacturer and providing the signed certificates, we hope to make claiming the tax credit a little bit easier for people in these tough times." The Energy Tax Credit provides a 30% credit of up to $1,500 and expires at the end of 2010.
The Garage Door Energy Tax Credit Resource is available to all consumers and is accessible through the Precision Door website. Manufacturers are listed with qualifying door model numbers and signed certificates are provided for the homeowner to use as proof of qualification.
