Premier reseller, Eisenhower Consignment expands 400% to accommodate demand.
The multi-billion resale industry remains one of the fastest growing segments of the economy
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As Americans move away from waste and excess to recycling and saving money, premier luxury reseller, Eisenhower Consignment expands it's showroom by over 400% to accommodate this growing trend.
According to NARTS (Association of Resale Professionals), the growing awareness of the importance of reducing pointless waste is moving the economy away from a disposable society to a recycling society. This means huge gains for the resale industry. NARTS also states that resale is the fastest growing segment of retail, having revenues of over $13 billion.
"People wanting to buy designer furniture but might not want to pay those prices, Eisenhower Consignment is the place for them because we work with interior designers who consign their client's furniture," say Eisenhower Consignment owners, Hee Sun Rotondo and Kay Mounts.
"It is the best kept secret - the go-to-source for interior designers who purge and procure discreetly for their clients. It is a shopping wonderland for people wanting high-end designer furniture and accessories," said Hee Sun.
This past year Eisenhower Consignment's showroom expanded from 1,200 square feet to 5,200 square feet of unique, eclectic mix of fine home furnishings. The furnishings span from Hollywood Regency glamour to Bohemian Chic. "We have furnishing from former presidential Cabinet members to DC's Rich and Famous." It features items found on 1st Dibs, Viyet and One Kings Lane - the on-line high-end, designer furniture resellers.
Eisenhower Consignment was started by sisters Kay Mounts and Hee Sun Rotondo. Both sisters were in upper management in different industries, before they teamed up. Like so many people, they had jobs that they tolerated, but never felt it was their true calling. Looking to do something different they both had interest in design and art. After studying the marketplace, they felt like there was a real need for a luxury consignment shop and it fit with their interest and love for in design and arts. And as it would happen the trend to reuse was 'trending' up and they got into it just at the right time. "We hit it just the right time and we have gotten to be the 'go-to' source for dealers and design professionals, says Kay.
Eisenhower Consignment opened its doors in May 2011 and is located at 4926-C Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304. For more information go to their website http://eisenhowerconsignment.com.
