PreXion, Inc. Names Visionary Industry Leader, Motoaki Saito, M.D., Ph.D. as CEO

SAN MATEO, Calif., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PreXion, Inc., (www.prexion.com ) the leader in high quality 3D Cone Beam CT Imaging systems for dentistry, today announced that it has named Motoaki Saito, M.D., Ph.D. as Chief Executive Officer.  Dr. Saito was the founder of PreXion and since 2007 has served as Chairman of the company.

In 1997 Dr. Saito founded TeraRecon (www.terarecon.com ), a leader of technology solutions of advanced 3D imaging systems for medical and industrial applications with thousands of installations around the world.  Dr. Saito served as TeraRecon's CEO for the first 12 years and CTO for the last 2 years of the company's history and currently as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Dr. Saito is a radiologist, entrepreneur, inventor and visionary with numerous patents to his name. His academic research and clinical training at the University of Tokyo Hospital provided him with valuable experience with all medical imaging modalities and information systems. In addition to strategic planning of the company's entire operations and growth, he was responsible both for the solution/application ground designs and the core technology designs including system/processor level architecture. Dr. Saito received his B.Sc. degree in Medicine from Niigata University and passed the Japanese National Medical Practitioners Qualifying Examination in 1992. In 2004 he received his Ph.D. Radiology and Biomedical Engineering, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo.
