Priceline.com Hotel Site Ranked #1 For Reliability In New Keynote Study
NORWALK, Conn., May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In a recent hotel reservation websites study conducted by Keynote Systems, priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN) was ranked number-one for reliability, with a perfect score of 1000.
Keynote's industry analysis group observed real users putting the major hotel reservation websites through their paces. In addition to observing users, the Keynote study examined site responsiveness and reliability. Responsiveness testing comprised high speed response, DSL (midband) response, response time consistency, geographic uniformity and load handling. Reliability testing looked at availability and outages.
The Keynote ranking was priceline.com's second award in the last month. Priceline.com's Hotel Negotiator® app was recognized as the Best Mobile App at the Asia Pacific Travel Innovation Awards, sponsored by TravelMole and EyeforTravel. The awards competition was open to companies that promote tourism in the Asia Pacific region. The award-winning app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/priceline-hotel-car-negotiator/id336381998?mt=8&uo=4. Or, it can be downloaded for free from the Android market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.priceline.android.negotiator.
For the Keynote study, analysts used measurement computers located in 12 cities around the U.S. Keynote measured a typical transaction of searching for and booking a hotel. Each measured transaction began at the site's Home Page, then followed the process of searching for and selecting a hotel, and ended at the reservation page that prompts the user to enter his personal information. Based on thousands of transactions monitored over the course of the study, priceline.com earned a perfect score of 1000.
