Primavera Blended Learning Center Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting
Local Students, Parents, Educators and Dignitaries Celebrate New State-of-the-Art Educational Facility
CHANDLER, Ariz., Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Primavera Online Middle School celebrated the ribbon cutting of their new Blended Learning Center today. This state-of-the-art facility combines face-to-face classroom teaching methods with computer-based online learning activities. Students, parents, educators and local dignitaries including the Chandler Chamber of Commerce were in attendance. The new 13,000 square foot educational facility, located at 2451 North Arizona Avenue in Chandler, Ariz., opens on Monday, August 12, 2013.
"We are proud to gather with the local community today to celebrate the opening of this incredible facility that is designed to provide an educational experience as unique as each of the students we serve," said Mori Creamer, Superintendent. "As many students and parents will attest, one size does not fit all when it comes to education. The goal of the Primavera Blended Learning Center is to utilize a holistic approach to educating children that provides a variety of opportunities to gain the critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills needed to succeed and thrive in the 21st century."
The Center's focus is on the mastery of Common Core Standards and the S.T.E.M. model (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). To accomplish these goals, students take their courses online (either onsite or at home), in addition to participating in project-based, hands-on activities.
The Primavera Blended Learning Center will serve as an extension of Primavera Online Middle School for students in grades 6-8. The Center will deliver a rigorous curriculum with a blend of online and in-person instruction customized to meet the individual needs of each student through highly skilled teachers and state-of-the-art technology. Instead of traditional classrooms, the environment consists of teacher-guided labs, breakout rooms and a large community area where students can work independently or in small groups.
The community is invited to attend and enjoy tours of the facility, refreshments and entertainment on Thursday, August 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. during the Grand Opening event.
