Prime Lube Adds NOCO Distribution LLC to Growing List of BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid Distributors
BlueSky DEF Now Available in NY, VT and NH in the U.S., Plus Ontario, Including Toronto and Ottawa
CARTERET, N.J., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Lube, Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, announced today that it has added NOCO Distribution LLC to its growing list of distributors for its BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). NOCO is now distributing BlueSky throughout all of New York State, Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as roughly half of the Canadian province of Ontario, including the Toronto and Ottawa metropolitan areas.
"We are very excited to have NOCO join our growing distribution network," said Prime Lube COO Robert Arbasetti. "They are a first-class company and we value their commitment to the BlueSky brand."
NOCO Distribution LLC, the largest lubricant distributor in New York State, is a subsidiary of NOCO, Inc., a family-owned and operated energy company with a 75-year history of providing quality energy products and services to commercial and residential customers in the New York region. Through its partnership with Prime Lube, NOCO Distribution LLC will provide its on- and off-highway fleet customers with BlueSky DEF, as well as offer BlueSky to commercial and passenger vehicle customers through its more than 30 NOCO Express and convenience stores throughout Western New York.
"As a fellow ExxonMobil distributor, we've had an ongoing relationship with Prime Lube for nearly 7 years. When it came time for us to add DEF to our product line, they were the natural choice," said Fred Giese, general manager at NOCO Distribution LLC. "Because they're a local manufacturer in close proximity to our warehouse in Kingston, NY, this is a major cost savings for us, and the fact that they can supply all of the tanks, pumps and other equipment plus be close at hand for maintenance and repairs if needed, is a value added benefit."
All diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010 are required to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emission standards set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. DEF, in conjunction with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, is the most effective and safest means by which commercial and private owner/operators can meet the required mandate. DEF is also mandated in Canada.
In April, Prime Lube announced its partnership with Germany's Kruse Group—the leading global DEF manufacturer and raw materials supplier—to manufacture and distribute BlueSky DEF throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Prime Lube will roll out the BlueSky brand to NOCO customers this week starting with two training seminars for the NOCO sales team in Syracuse and Toronto.
"Our local manufacturing and full-service capability is a major plus for fleet service providers in the Mid-Atlantic," said Arbasetti. "As the demand for DEF grows, our distribution partners like NOCO will be well-positioned to provide an affordable solution to help their customers meet the requirement, enhance their sustainability practices and improve fuel economy."
Prime Lube's BlueSky DEF is ISO and API approved to help neutralize the nitrous oxide emissions generated through diesel exhaust. In its most basic form, DEF is a blend of urea (derived from natural gas) and de-ionized water that combine to form ammonia, which turns nitrous oxide emissions into harmless water vapor and elemental nitrogen. It can even improve fuel economy up to 5 percent.
