National Challenge Invites Youth to Stand Up and Come Together to Eliminate Cyberbullying in America
BLUE BELL, Pa., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Proactive Parenting Network today announced its participation in the Great American NO BULL Challenge, a grassroots cyberbullying prevention campaign created by the Cyber Safety Academy.
The Great American NO BULL Challenge offers middle and high school kids the opportunity to write and direct anti-bullying videos for a national competition in which the winners will be recognized at the star-studded NO BULL Red Carpet Awards event in San Francisco on July 21, 2012.
According to i-SAFE, more than half of adolescents and teens have been bullied online, and about the same number of teens has engaged in cyberbullying.
"Cyberbullying is becoming an epidemic that is having a devastating impact on families and communities across America," said William M. Thompson, chairman & CEO of the Proactive Parenting Network. "We are excited to support the Great American NO BULL Challenge to bring awareness and visibility to this increasingly important issue."
The Great American NO BULL Challenge is the first multi-tiered, student-led, short film and video contest and Red Carpet Awards Event just for teens that brings awareness to the issue of cyberbullying in America. The goal of the Challenge is to engage America's students, educators, organization leaders, counselors, mentors and communities in our nation's efforts to reduce the risks associated with cyberbullying.
Students across the country can upload videos between January 15 and March 15, 2012 and can learn more about the Challenge by visiting www.nobullchallenge.org.
