ATLANTA, June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and its affiliates are announcing a national 'Summer Photolosophy.' The roster of events aims to raise the bar on industry standards and welcome a new generation of photographers into their creative community.
Events will be held nationwide and include workshops, master classes, business courses and exhibits hosted by some of the industry's most noted photographers. Capping off the summer is PPA's International Photographic Competition (IPC) in August. Last year's IPC attracted nearly 5,000 entries from photographers around the world.
These 'Summer Photolosophy' events invite participants to showcase their work, learn more about the business, and grow as photographers. They also push members to earn coveted merits toward PPA's photographic degrees with images worthy of PPA's elite class of photographers. Events include: iClick Expo (Des Moines, IA), Projection Sales in Your Pajamas (Atlanta, GA), Texas Summer Roundup (Kerrville, TX), Photopalooza (Fairview Heights, IL), Photo Safari (North Andover, MA), CAPTURE 2014 (Little Rock, AR), Storytelling Photography (Dallas, TX), Little Red Schoolhouse: Great Gatsby Style (Galveston, TX), and the annual International Photographic Competition (Atlanta, GA).
"Summer is a great time to join the largest photographic association on the planet," said PPA President Susan Michal. "PPA is a photographic family that presents countless opportunities to help photographers be more. Educational resources like PPAedu and See the Difference are some examples of the free tools that every photographer who belongs to PPA can take advantage of. It's great to see a photographer at any stage of their career excited to be more."
"When you have the opportunity to learn and photograph alongside some of the best it changes more than your photography, it changes your life," said APPI Photopalooza Event Coordinator Al Behnke. "We're focusing on creating events that generate excitement, collaboration, and hands-on education for attendees to help them further their craft and see their world a little differently."
PPA's 'Summer Photolosophy' events will offer the latest insights in techniques, marketing, lighting, wedding and portrait tips, and much more from the lenses of the best in the industry.
