Future Product Popularity Insights
China's 2016 cross-border e-commerce experienced rapid growth in many emerging product categories. Most notably, the turnover of VR Glasses' grew by 1979% within just one year, and Sports Cameras had a turnover growth rate of 1255%.
The following categories also had a significant growth rate: Kitchen, Cafeteria and Bar tools, Makeup bags, Slippers, Nail Art and Salon, Wearable Devices, Sports shoes, Hair care & Salon, and Outdoors Equipment.
2016's Top 10 Categories
The mainstream product growth of China's Cross-Border E-Commerce Exports in 2016 was based on approximately 20 categories. In 2016, cell phones and related accessories took 10.1% of the turnover for all categories, ranking first. Hair & Style comes next, accounting for 9.3%.
Other categories that accounted for the majority of sales are: Clothing, Health & Beauty, Maternity & Baby, Electronics, Home & Garden, Watches, Jewelry, and Sports & Outdoors. In terms of growth rate for product categories, Video Games and Health & Beauty Products had the highest among all categories, with respective growth rates of 114.7% and 110.8%.
