Project Ed Bear, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comfort and support specially designed for kids who have been diagnosed with cancer, is proud to announce that the 20th Annual Gala Auction tickets are now on sale and this year's event will be a true celebration of the kids.
During the past twenty years, over 2,000 patients have received the Project Ed Bear teddy bears. These bears are a partner, a friend and comfort as these brave patients begin their treatment journey. The service of this group does not end there. Project Ed Bear's reach extends into a variety of areas to help the kids as they continue their fight. From holiday parties and end of treatment celebrations to the annual Camp Ed Bear weekend, this group strives to make sure that the kids get a chance to be kids, no matter what they are going through in the hospital.
"These kids hold a special place in my heart. To see where we have come in these 20 years and how many lives we have touched for the better, I remember how blessed I am to be a part of their journey. No matter how small the impact, we are changing lives" states Susan Summerville, Co-Founder.
On Monday, December 1, the Gala Auction will be held at Quaker Station starting at 5 pm. This year's event will host a sea of unique items open for bidding both at the silent auction and a live auction. In the center of this glamourous event, the core of the organization shines strong as 30 kids are honored with Outstanding Bravery Awards. The evening is a celebration of their strength.
"Each event that is held reminds me how fortunate I am to help mold the future of Project Ed Bear so that we can take our support to new levels for these well deserving kids" says Ed Bittle, Co-Founder, "We always remember, it started with a teddy bear."
There are many programs that Project Ed Bear supports with the funds raised during the Gala Auction including signature teddy bears; holidays, birthday and end of treatment parties; support meetings; Camp Ed Bear and The Project Ed Bear College Scholarship Program. Tickets for the Gala Auction are available now on www.projectedbear.org for your chance to support this special cause. Reserve your spot now as tickets are limited.
