Prominent CEOs Join Semiconductor Industry Association's Board of Directors

CEOs of Atmel Corporation and Maxim Integrated Products elected to SIA Board

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), representing U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing and design, today announced that Steven Laub, President and CEO of Atmel Corporation and Tunc Doluca, President and CEO of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. have joined the SIA Board of Directors.  Both CEOs were approved in a unanimous vote during a regular session of the Board of Directors meeting on June 9, 2011.

Mr. Laub and Mr. Doluca join a distinguished group of industry executives from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Altera Corp., Analog Devices, Fairchild Semiconductor, Freescale Semiconductor, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, IBM Corp., Intel Corp., Intersil Corp, Linear Technology Corp., LSI Corp., Micron Technology, ON Semiconductor, PMC-Sierra, Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, and Texas Instruments, Inc.

An over 20-year veteran of the semiconductor industry, Steven Laub has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Atmel since August 2006 and as a director of Atmel since February 2006. Since joining the company as President and CEO, Mr. Laub has transformed Atmel from a memory company to a high-growth microcontroller-based company.  Mr. Laub holds a degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A.) and a degree from Harvard Law School (J.D.).

Tunc Doluca became President and CEO of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. in January 2007 and has been with the company for 27 years in various leadership roles. Trained in device physics, Mr. Doluca has designed over 40 products and holds 11 patents. These products range from high-speed data converters in his early years at Maxim to breakthrough power-management products later in his design career. Mr. Doluca designed the industry's first high-integration, notebook power-supply IC (the MAX786). Born in Ankara, Turkey, Mr. Doluca holds a BSEE degree from Iowa State University and an MSEE degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
