Prominent Farmington Hills Plastic Surgeon Warns Patients to Beware of Nonmedical Personnel Performing Buttocks Injections for Augmentation.
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Feb. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Getting clothes to fit adequately in the buttock area can be a problem for many women.
Buttocks augmentation by using padding in the clothes can be a temporary solution. Buttock injections have become increasingly popular. Dr. Michelle Hardaway, a prominent Farmington Hills plastic surgeon at the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Center states that she has received an increasing number of calls asking for buttock injections. This month, another woman died after having injections performed in a hotel room (Philadelphia) by nonmedical personnel.
Dr. Hardaway warns patients to avoid these treatments. Often silicone or other substances that are not FDA approved are being injected into the buttocks by nonmedical personnel with lethal consequences. Dr. Hardaway states that good results for buttocks augmentation can be obtained with injecting fat into the buttocks after liposuction. Other options are buttock implants. Dr. Hardaway wants patients to become aware of the importance of using qualified medial physicians when having any medical procedure performed.
