Parents Across the Country Demand Expanded Educational Options

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PublicSchoolOptions.org – a leading national parent organization that advocates for choice in education – is calling on lawmakers across the country to hear the voices of parents seeking access to educational options that address the needs of their children. As part of National School Choice Week, January 25 – February 2, families are standing up in support of their right to access an education that works for students, no matter their geographic location, race or socio-economic status.

PublicSchoolOptions.org is active throughout the year and starting in late January will be bringing together thousands of families for annual "Capitol Day" events in state capitols across the country in partnership with state chapters. The goal of the Capitol Day is to bring families and lawmakers together to demonstrate the broad support for expanded educational options in their state. Last year, over 9,000 families gathered on the steps of state capitols to celebrate the Capitol Day events in 16 states. With growing momentum across the country in support of school choice, an unprecedented number of families are expected to turn out for this year's events.
