The authoritative source of information on PVC pipe, Uni-Bell is the top trade association for plastic pipe manufacturers.
Neal Gordon, vice president of marketing for JM Eagle, is Uni-Bell's new chairman; Joe Bondi, vice president and general manager of CertainTeed Corp., will serve as vice chairman; Paul Czachor, vice president and general manager of Royal Pipe Systems, will be treasurer; and Veso Sobot, P.Eng, director of corporate affairs at IPEX Management, Inc., becomes past chair.
"We are delighted to welcome Neal, Joe and Paul to the executive at this exciting time for our industry," said Uni-Bell Executive Director Bruce Hollands. "They understand the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and will guide the PVC pipe industry as it helps to rebuild the nation's underground infrastructure with corrosion-proof piping."
The officers were elected at Uni-Bell's 39th annual meeting, which took place in Tucson, Arizona, April 18-20. The meeting represents the largest gathering of PVC pipe and fitting manufacturers in the world, and the theme this year was "Smarter Spending for Challenging Times." Activities focused on rebuilding the nation's crumbling infrastructure, and showcasing the durability, performance, cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency of PVC pipe and its related products.
"Governments need to take a good hard look at the most cost-effective materials available to address the water main break crisis and corrosion epidemic affecting our water and sewer systems, which cost the U.S. $50.7 billion annually in repairs, replacements and lost water," said Uni-Bell chair Neal Gordon.
Founded in 1971, the Uni-Bell PVC Pipe Association is a non-profit organization that serves the engineering, regulatory, public health and standardization communities. The association is committed to expanding demand for PVC piping, consolidating industry efforts to promote its products, and educating the public about the benefits of plastic pipe.
