QDA, Ohio's Premier Online School, Opens New Office in Steubenville; Open House Planned for September 28
Enrollment growth in Ohio Valley prompts QDA to expand to better serve the educational, enrichment needs of its students
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ --QDA, Ohio's premier cyber school option, is happy to announce the opening of its new office in Steubenville, Ohio, located at 2230 Sunset Boulevard. The office, which opened August 1, features a student computer lab, tutoring and testing services, enrollment services, and tech support. The office will also be host to educational and enrichment programs, as well as extracurricular activities.
The expansion is the first of its kind for QDA and will allow the school to provide on-site services for students and families in the area.
"QDA has experienced a growth in enrollment from the Ohio Valley and wanted a way to better serve our students and families," said Jonathan Ludwig, Supervisor of Student Services for QDA. "QDA recognized the need for more options in school choice and wanted to better assist those families looking into free, online educational options."
QDA will host its Grand Opening and community open house event on Tuesday, September 28, from noon to 8 p.m.
Interested students, their families, and members of the community are invited to come and tour the new office, meet staff and current students, and learn how an online school works. Representatives from the curriculum, technology, and student services departments will be on hand to answer questions. There will be games, refreshments, and a special appearance from Froggy 103.5's Wendy and the Green Team beginning at noon.
Ludwig said in addition to being able to better serve the Valley's growing student body, the opening of the new office allows QDA to invest in the local community. "As interest and enrollment in QDA continues to grow throughout the state, so does the need for expansion," he said. "While we currently have enough instructional and administrative staff to serve all of our students' needs through our two locations, as student enrollment grows, so does our need to hire additional qualified employees for the Steubenville office."
QDA began the 2010-2011 school year with a statewide enrollment of 500 students, and expects that number to grow as families continue to seek out quality, effective educational alternatives for their children.
