NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio, June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- QDA, Ohio's premier online learning program, is proud to announce that it will honor the 32 members of the class of 2012 in a joint commencement ceremony with New Philadelphia High School on June 2. The New Philadelphia School District originally sponsored the now statewide cyber school program.
The QDA graduating class of 2012 will be joining the students of New Philadelphia High School at Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium to mark their commencement and celebrate their years of hard work. For the 32 QDA graduates, receiving their diplomas will be a moment of triumph and educational achievement in the digital era.
The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.
"We're very proud of our graduating seniors," said QDA CEO, Dr. Richard Varrati. "Not only have they proven themselves to be excellent students, but we feel that their success with QDA has proven they have the skills to face an adapting world of technology and education. The students at QDA learn in non-traditional ways, so they're already prepared when the world hands them something non-traditional."
All QDA graduates have completed the graduation requirements as laid out by the state of Ohio and will receive a state-certified diploma.
During their time at QDA, students developed their time management skills by balancing their challenging course loads with fulltime work schedules, athletic and artistic endeavors, or community service projects. Furthermore, students expressed creativity in a digital world through class projects, blog posts, and research papers and learned to effectively communicate their beliefs and ideas through lively debates and social interactions with other students.
"Graduates of QDA are the epitome of 21st century learners," said Dr. Varrati. "They used the option of online learning to take ownership of their education and were wildly successful."
