QStride Presents Swing For A Cure Celebrity Golf Outing
Benefit for families facing Cancer Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT)
MT. CLEMENS, Mich., July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- QStride, a top100 ranked technology solutions provider specializing in business intelligence, analytics, and Information Technology consulting services, today announced its first-ever Swing For A Cure Celebrity Charity Golf Outing, a benefit for Michigan-based families facing Cancer Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT).
The inaugural philanthropic event will be held on Friday August 10, 2018 in Shelby Township, MI at the notable Cherry Creek Golf Club. The outing will allow participants to golf with celebrities while giving back at the same time. A portion of the proceeds will benefit New Day Foundation for Families, a 501c3 nonprofit that provides financial and emotional assistance to Michigan families facing cancer and CRFT.
"I selected this nonprofit as many of us are not aware of the other side of cancer and how CRFT is a national crisis," said Shane Gianino, Founder & CEO of QStride. "Of the 15 million people living in the U.S. with cancer, 73% of adult cancer patients will experience some form of CRFT. That is almost 11 million people. Of the 11 million, 79% of patients who file for bankruptcy have a 79% greater risk of early mortality, which is close to 9 million people. The money we raise will help alleviate some of the financial burden Michigan children and families are facing due to this deadly disease."
QStride and Professional Golf Planners of America (PGPA) welcomes golfers of all skill levels in addition to businesses and organizations to participate, which is sure to be a fun-filled and memorable event. The format is a 4-player best ball scramble and will feature a celebrity chip challenge and play throughout. Prizes include a Hole-In-One contest, Vegas Hole, Longest Drive, Closest-To-The Pin contests.
Some of the confirmed celebrities include Winter Games Olympic Gold Medalist Jake Vedder, 4X Emmy Winner, Reporter/Host/Anchor of Fox Sport Detroit Trevor Thompson, 7X Emmy Winner American television journalist from Dateline NBC Chris Hansen, Bestselling author, International Speaker, TV Host Dr. Eddie Connor, and Former NFL Carolina Panther and University of Michigan Football player Rondell Biggs.
