Quail Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Responds to Recent Arrest of Two Former Employees
OKLAHOMA CITY, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Quail Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Quail Creek) - In response to the arrest of two former employees in connection with the alleged abuse of one of its residents, Amanda Penrod, Administrator of Quail Creek, has issued the following statement:
"As stewards of our residents' well-being, we share in the community's outrage over these inhumane acts. First and foremost, we would like to extend our most sincere apologies to our resident and to her family, who entrusted us to provide care. We hold ourselves to the highest of standards and have zero tolerance for such behavior or conduct, which is why we immediately contacted the police.
"These recent acts were individual in nature and not representative of the other 116 employees of Quail Creek who come to work everyday with integrity.
"We have completed a thorough internal investigation of the individuals involved as well as the policies that govern our facility. As a result of this investigation, these employees have been terminated, effective immediately.
"We also are working closely and cooperating with local authorities to handle this most unfortunate situation in an expedient and appropriate manner. We are also working closely with the family and will continue work tirelessly to maintain the trust of our residents, families, employees and the community."
