PRAGUE, May 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- One may not think that the Central and Eastern European region is a thriving cybersecurity space. Nothing could be further from the truth, however, as the attendees of the QuBit Conference learned this week. Featuring top speakers from around the globe, the conference set the bar very high in the region.
The organizers of QuBit are seeking to create a Central European hub that supports the growth of new ideas. "We are striving to create a community event with minimal amounts of self-promotional vendor presentations," says the CEO of QuBit, Maria Kalicakova. "Instead, we focus on educational content, case-studies, management solutions, and technical presentations. Professionals in attendance really appreciated it."
The conference attracted the attention of many American speakers, including Paul E. Paray, a Partner at Zimmerman Weiser & Paray LLP, Michael C. McNeil, the Global Product Security & Services Officer for Philips Healthcare, and Ondrej Krehel, the Founder and CTO of LIFARS, LLC. At the same time, the conference encouraged sharing of ideas and experiences, as well as connecting international companies and creating new business opportunities.
The QuBit Conference featured a full-day training with focus on APT malware analysis that is often used by state-sponsored organized hacking groups. "The training here was probably the most extensive I've had at any technology conference I've attended," says Evan Saez, the Network Intelligence Security Analyst at LIFARS, LLC, an international cybersecurity intelligence firm. "The difference was that the instructors did not attempt to sell that they can teach you everything there is to known about forensics and cybersecurity. Instead, you would learn new techniques and get a chance to exchange information with people that had the solution you were looking for and vice-a-versa. That is what is going to be bringing me back to next year's QuBit Conference," he adds.
