A friendship between Melanie Hadfield and Colleen Cochlin, owner of the soon-to-open Maui Cashmere boutique on Maui, formed last summer when Cochlin visited Hadfield's store and fell in love with the Tatum & Olivia philosophy and Collection. She also introduced Hadfield to Davide and Rebecca Bizzarri, owners of the incredible Artigiani Milanesi Cashmere Atelier on Bowen Island.

The Tatum & Olivia philosophy is about inspiring the accomplished woman to define her personal style, thereby allowing her to dress with effortless elegance. Founded in the 1950's by the mother of Davide Bizzarri, Artigiani Milanesi operated in Milan, Italy until about 17 months ago, when the family decided on a lifestyle change and adventure to Canada. Settling on Bowen Island, the Bizzarri family, consisting of Rebecca, Davide and Davide's mother, Rosa Feroldi, opened their gorgeous bespoke cashmere workshop in a 1,600-square-foot boutique nestled among other artisans and shops in Artisan Square, minutes from the Bowen Island Ferry Terminal – a 20-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver.

The Bizzarri's transported their entire knitting workshop from Milan to Bowen Island in two 40-foot containers. Their gorgeous atelier with an incredible view of the North Shore Mountains, houses both high-end electronic knitting machines alongside vintage hand-operated looms, where Rosa and her new Bowen Island team of skilled tailors create exquisite Italian Cashmere treasures.

Cochlin will be opening Maui Cashmere in the exciting new Tropical Plantation Development on Maui later this month and will be carrying Hadfield's Tatum & Olivia Collection along with the Bizzarri's Artigiani Milanesi Cashmere.
