Rabbis To Demonstrate Against President Obama's Policies Toward Israel Thursday In Front Of Israel Consulate In Miami; Also To Speak To Lynn University Students Before Debate
MIAMI, Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Just days before the final Presidential debate at Lynn University, a group of Democratic and Republican Rabbis plan to stir the geopolitical pot by demonstrating in front of the Israeli Consulate Thursday in protest against President Obama's policies toward Israel.
"This will be clearest demonstration yet by Rabbis to voice objection of the Obama Administration's policies towards America's most strategic ally in the region," said Rabbi Sam Intrator. "The discussion toward peace needs to be broadened to include recognition of Israel as a Jewish state by the Palestinian Authority. Instead, the Obama Administration's sole focus has been on Israeli housing and building instead of comprehensively addressing all the obstacles to real peace. The Obama Administration has unfairly engaged in one sided public floggings of Israel without issuing consistent major condemnation of the PA for forming a coalition government with Hamas, a world- recognized terrorist entity that seeks the violent destruction of Israel," says Rabbi Intrator.
The demonstration in front of the Israel Consulate at 100 N. Biscayne Blvd. at 18th Street at 11 AM Thursday will include a brief press conference in which Rabbis will express their disapproval of Obama's policies toward the Middle East.
Real Peace Middle East (www.rpme.org) is organizing the demonstration, which will be the first of many similar protests by Rabbis leading up to the final debate at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fl., including a protest across street from where President Obama and Gov. Romney are set to have their final debate.
Rabbi Intrator also will be speaking to students at Lynn University Thursday afternoon where he will show Lynn students from around the world, including from South American and Muslim countries, a trilogy of mini webisodes RPME produced that satirize U.S. policies and attitudes toward Israel that he said have hampered, instead of helped to bring about peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
