Rado Celebrates 40 Years of Tennis with a Limited-Edition Timepiece

Legacy Honored at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C.

LENGNAU, Switzerland, July 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Rado, the Swiss watch brand renowned for its mastery of materials and design, proudly renews its partnership as Official Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the Mubadala Citi DC Open, taking place from July 19 to 27, 2025, at Washington D.C.'s Rock Creek Park Tennis Center.

The Mubadala Citi DC Open is the world's first and only combined ATP & WTA 500 event. Founded in 1969 to support Arthur Ashe's vision of hosting a professional tennis tournament in a public park, it has grown into the fifth-largest professional tennis tournament in the United States—and the longest-running at a single venue. Set in the heart of Washington, D.C., the tournament draws elite athletes, influential leaders, and global tennis fans.

This year marks a major milestone: 40 years since Rado first entered the world of professional tennis. To celebrate this legacy, the brand is unveiling a new limited-edition Captain Cook timepiece that blends sport, style, and innovation—hallmarks of both Rado and the game.

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Rado, a brand that shares our commitment to excellence, innovation, and the timeless spirit of tennis," said Mark Ein, Chairman of the Mubadala Citi DC Open. "As we celebrate 40 years of Rado's contributions to the sport, having such an iconic company as our Official Timekeeper adds prestige and precision to the tournament."

Adrian Bosshard, CEO of Rado, added: "The collaboration with Mubadala Citi DC Open is a perfect match. Rado and tennis share essential values—strategy, precision, and performance. We are excited to celebrate this milestone and look forward to another great tournament."
