Ramp Up to Conscious Capitalism 2013 Event Ignites Bay Area Business Community
Salon Series Introduces Concepts Behind Powerful New Business Model
SAN FRANCISCO, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Designed to introduce the powerful ideas behind Conscious Capitalism, a series of six interactive salons in San Francisco, Berkeley and Stanford have fired up Bay Area executives, business professionals, entrepreneurs, university professors and students. The engaging events were a prelude to the Conscious Capitalism 2013 conference taking place April 5 & 6 in San Francisco, where pioneering CEOs and business leaders will share their insights and best practices for putting Conscious Capitalism to work.
The salons featured conversations with local entrepreneurial business leaders including Eric Ryan of method and Fedele Bauccio of Bon Appetit Management Company, scholar Kellie McElhaney of the Berkeley-Haas School of Business, and author John Montgomery. The interactive format engaged participants to learn how purpose-based conscious businesses are succeeding by creating value for all stakeholders (customers, employees, vendors, communities, and investors alike).
"What a buzz!" remarked Larry Tackett of the Venture Greenhouse at Dominican University, in response to the January 24th salon. "People are hungering for a different way of working and doing business."
"I had no idea that there was such a broad group of extraordinary business leaders moving in this direction," observed Robert Girling, PhD, Professor, Business Administration, Sonoma State University, after the March 5th salon in Berkeley.
Added UC Berkeley-Haas MBA student, Jenny Raja, "The salon deepened my understanding of these ideas. I'm really looking forward to the conference in April."
