RAS Opens State-of-the-Art Facility In Roseville
New RAS Vascular and Varicose Vein Center Meets Growing Demand for Minimally Invasive Treatment
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to a rising demand for minimally invasive treatment, Radiological Associates of Sacramento (RAS) opened its new Vascular and Varicose Vein Center in Roseville, offering patients nonsurgical options and direct access to RAS specialists. This new state-of-the-art, outpatient facility will allow the independent medical group to offer more than 100 minimally invasive procedures and treatments for varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), spinal compression fractures, biopsies and more.
"We've witnessed a surge in the demand for minimally invasive procedures here in the Greater Sacramento region, and now at our expanded facility patients can access the care they need far more rapidly," said Dr. Mark Davidian, Medical Director of RAS Vascular and Varicose Vein Center.
The new facility is one of the largest, freestanding Interventional Radiology centers in the United States spanning nearly 10,000 square feet and featuring two expansive treatment suites with C-arm capabilities, spacious exam rooms and a 14-bed recovery area. Physicians include six highly skilled interventional radiologists, two neurointerventional radiologists and a vascular surgeon.
"Interventional radiology is one of the most dynamic medical fields today," said Dr. Davidian. "These types of innovative, minimally invasive procedures involve less pain and shorter recovery time compared to open surgery, which has led to an increase in patient demand."
According to Dr. Davidian RAS works closely with area physicians, partnering with primary care groups as well as specialists to collaboratively manage the care of each patient. "We are really the first-line of care for a vast number of conditions," he added. "Especially patients enrolled in Interventional radiology clinical trials offered at RAS."
These innovative clinical trials give patients access to new interventions before they become widely available. RAS Interventional Radiologists further advance their diagnostic expertise and in-depth knowledge of the least invasive treatments for patients through these trials.
Established in 1917, Radiological Associates of Sacramento (RAS) is Northern California's premier provider of specialty healthcare. Core services include diagnostic radiology, interventional/neurointerventional radiology, PET/nuclear medicine and radiation oncology.
