ST. LOUIS, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ray Barrett, chairman of Biomedical Systems, has accepted the role of chairman of Triumph Pharmaceuticals and its premier brand, SmartMouth, an oral rinse product that provides fresh breath for up to 24 hours.
Known as an "entrepreneur's entrepreneur," Barrett brings a unique mix of experience to the table, with success in the medical and healthcare markets, as well as consumer products. Barrett has developed Biomedical Systems into a global organization offering clinical trials throughout the world. Prior to that, he founded Landshire Food Systems, a manufacturer and distributor of packaged goods, which he sold to Southland Corporation, the parent company of 7-11, in 1977.
His interest in SmartMouth stems from its innovative science. "In the course of my career, I've learned that if you don't innovate, you disintegrate," Barrett says. "The science behind SmartMouth is truly innovative. It works differently by employing zinc ion technology that not only stops bad breath but prevents it. It's truly a daily cure for bad breath. That's innovation, but that's not all — they have other products in their pipeline."
The science Barrett is referring to is SmartMouth's patented two-solution oral rinse that combats sulfur gases commonly found in the mouth. The Sulfur Eliminating Solution, which destroys sulfur gases, and the zinc-rich Activating Solution, when mixed together, activate zinc ions that block germs from producing sulfur. Rinsing with the combined solutions releases zinc ions that eliminate bad breath and prevents it for 12 hours. Used in the morning and at night, SmartMouth can provide fresh breath for a full 24 hours.
