Ray Bradbury's Legacy Lives on in Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope

LOS ANGELES, June 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ray Bradbury, a writing icon who had a 70-year reign, whose work encompassed over 500 monumental literary works and whose countless writing awards included a 2007 Pulitzer Prize Citation, passed away on June 5, 2012. Bradbury's best known works included the screenplay for Moby Dick and literary works - Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, and The Illustrated Man.

The Illustrated Man includes the short story "Kaleidoscope," which has been adapted into a 17-minute film called Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope, which stars Brett Stimely. Stimely, an action star, is known for his roles in Watchmen and Transformers: The Dark of the Moon. He stars as an astronaut in a life-threatening situation that leads to a path of self-discovery.

Director Eric Tozzi's compelling film Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope will have its Los Angeles premiere on opening night at the New Media Film Festival on June 12, 2012. At the Festival, Ray Bradbury will posthumously receive the Legend Award.

When the iconic writer Ray Bradbury saw the film Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope, he was moved to tears - just like a proud father would be, as he saw his words come to life on the big screen. "I was proud to have his blessing on the movie," stated Stimely.

The presentation of the Legend Award will follow the screening of Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope. A Q&A with Brett Stimely will follow this presentation.
