Ray Gilley of ISI Security Group Publishes Position Paper on the SAFETY Act
Paper examines the importance of the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act)
SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ISI Security, the industry leader in critical security solutions in the detention facilities market has recently published a position paper titled The SAFETY Act. The paper was authored by Ray Gilley, President and CEO at ISI Security. There have been a multitude of changes not only the ever-evolving technology landscape, but also in risk mitigation and liability limitation associated with this technology. Prior to 2002, risk mitigation and liability limitation were only measured once an event took place and a civil action was filed by those affected by the event. All of that changed when Congress passed the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act), as part of the wide ranging Homeland Security Act.
"The SAFETY Act completely indemnifies our customers against liability when it comes to equipment or other security services in the event of a terrorist act," stated Ray Gilley, President and CEO of ISI Security. "For companies like mine, it provides a defensible standard for levels of insurance protection on the implementation of our services and products," continued Gilley.
The SAFETY Act is the cornerstone in ensuring that innovative technologies and services keep pace with the ever-evolving threats of terrorism and extremism. Through the development of new products and services under the SAFETY Act, the implementation of these cutting-edge technologies will ensure the protection of customers as well as the companies working to serve them.
