Raymarine Hosting 'Virtual Sea Trials' at the Miami Boat Show

MERRIMACK, N.H. and MIAMI, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Miami International Boat Show -- Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today invited all Miami International Boat Show attendees to its "virtual sea trial exhibit," featuring an interactive simulator outfitted with the company's new E-Series Widescreen Multifunction Displays (MFD) with HybridTouch™. The simulator has two E140W multifunction displays connected to state-of-the art maritime simulation software. Located in booth A95, adjacent to Raymarine's main exhibit, the simulator will let boaters try out the E-Series display's new touch screen and redesigned user interface, while feeling as if they're really navigating on the water.

The simulator's design recreates the look and feel of a premium center console sport fishing boat. Realistic controls include an actual hydraulic steering system and twin engine controls with electronic shift and throttle. The simulation also features high quality audio, enabling visitors to hear and feel feedback from the virtual engines. A central big-screen display provides a realistic view of the boating environment through the windshield including navigation aids, landmarks, traffic and weather.

All of the Raymarine electronics receive virtual GPS position and instrument data enabling them to behave and respond in sync with the computer generated environment. In addition to the E140W's, the virtual helm is outfitted with Raymarine's ST70 Plus instruments, and fully functional SmartPilot autopilot system
