Reaching North Side Parents: AchieveMpls Holds Third Annual Parent College Fair at Cub Foods

Two dozen representatives from Minnesota colleges, universities and community-based organizations will gather at Cub Foods in North Minneapolis (Lyndale Avenue and Broadway) on Saturday, February 6th to provide parents with the information and guidance they need to support their children in pursuing higher education. Sponsored by AchieveMpls in conjunction with the Minneapolis Public Schools, Cub Foods, and the Parent Involvement Resource Sharing Network, the Parent and College Fair is part of AchieveMpls' three-year-old Parent and Family Outreach Initiative, which reaches out to and engages Minneapolis parents in planning for their children's future success. The Initiative hosts many events throughout the year, including parent focus groups, forums on the achievement gaps, parent college tours, and a series of Parent College Fairs throughout the year. |
