Ready Wireless Offers Real-Time Data Metering For Smartphones

SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ready Wireless, a MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) that  powers devices, services, and systems on a multi-carrier wireless platform for resale to wholesale private label customers, announced the availability of real-time data metering for smartphones for its MVNO partners through Telespree Communications.  Telespree's Active Session Monitoring service meters the total data usage on the smartphone by time and/or megabytes.

With the ability to meter data usage in real-time, Ready's wholesale partners can better manage their plans and control data with no leakage.  Subscribers are immediately redirected to a web page when their data plans expire and are given instructions to purchase additional data.

Data usage on smartphones is on the rise. The average smartphone user downloads just over 870 megabytes per month.¹  Metering mobile data traffic is essential as it is expected to increase 13-fold by 2017.²
