ROGERS, Ark., Aug. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Real Agent Guard, a company dedicated to the safety of real estate agents, recently launched a new platform that allows agents to easily find safe locations to meet with clients – for free. Often, agents are asked to meet with clients who want to see a property far from their home office. REALTOR® Safe Harbor is a web-based site and mobile-friendly app that enables agents to quickly determine safe locations to meet.

Several REALTOR® associations have recently signed on to be among the first groups to take part in the program, including the Arkansas REALTOR®s Association, 6,923 members; the Wyoming Association of REALTOR®s, 2,012 members; the Louisiana REALTOR®s Association, 11,650 members; and the Idaho Association of REALTOR®s, 7,000 members. Several other state associations are also close to finalizing partnerships with REALTOR® Safe Harbor.

All of the associations and Real Agent Guard are actively encouraging real estate firms and other businesses to offer their locations as a safe harbor.

"This is just one of several safety initiatives that have been created since the tragic murder of Arkansas REALTOR® Beverly Carter," said Justyn Hornor, a partner with Real Agent Guard. "REALTOR® Safe Harbor is a great tool for real estate agents who are on the go and need a safe place to meet a prospective client. Unfortunately, in today's world there are too many unknowns, and agents must be on guard. Meeting in a safe, professional location where people can take note of the agent and the client is one way to prevent a tragic situation such as Beverly's."

REALTOR® Safe Harbor locations have pledged to make their offices available for meeting with a new client and will provide a one-page client prospect form free of charge upon request. This allows agents to capture information about the prospective client, such as address, vehicle make and model, and driver's license information and quickly send that back to their home office before heading out with the client.

To find safe locations, real estate agents can visit the website at or download the REALTOR® Safe Harbor app for iOS or Android. They can then view all the safe harbors near them or their client and click on "Get Directions" to get a direct route. They can also easily forward location addresses and directions directly to clients' emails.

Agencies and other places of business that would like to become a safe harbor can take the pledge and sign up on the website.

"I am very proud of the Arkansas REALTORS® Association for being one of the first states to commit to participating and actively promoting REALTOR® Safe Harbor," said Bill Tobias, vice president with Crye-Leike REALTOR®s in Conway, Ark., and chairman of the ARA's Safety Task Force. "Not a day goes by when I don't think of Beverly Carter and the pain her family has endured. Our association is fully committed to doing everything we can to prevent another tragedy like what happened to Beverly. We hope broker offices and other businesses will visit the site and take the pledge to be a safe harbor for agents."

REALTOR® Safe Harbor is powered by Real Agent Guard, founded by Justyn Hornor, a former Army sergeant, and Tim Brasuell, a police officer for 13 years. Along with REALTOR® Safe Harbor, the duo developed the Real Agent Guard security platform in response to Carter's tragic murder. Both founders wanted to build a powerful, yet affordable, security solution that acted as a safety net for agents.

Real Agent Guard is the only one of its kind on the market to offer an enterprise-facing suite of safety tools, as well as a way for friends and family to monitor agents. Agents can arm a security system on their app with one click and upload photos of clients, license plates, a driver's license, or anything else. If they miss a check-in time or trigger an alert, their agency team and friends and family are instantly notified and have access to a tracker tool.
