CHICAGO, Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Real Time Risk Solutions (RTRS) announced the addition of Billy Welch to its Executive Team as Director of Strategic Partnerships. Welch has spent his career developing risk management solutions for the insurance industry and brings valuable relationships and experience to RTRS as it looks to expand its client network.
Welch began his career at Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), later sold to the Intercontinental Exchange. At CCX, Welch developed an exchange for hurricane insurance, used by over 100 insurers, reinsurers, funds and their brokers. Next, he joined Aon's investment banking unit, working with clients to develop catastrophe bonds and other risk transfer solutions.
Welch went on to assist in the launch of the American Financial Exchange (AFX), an interbank lending platform created by Richard Sandor, by developing and training the AFX sales, customer service and operation teams while developing partnerships with financial institutions who transacted via the exchange. In its first year, AFX was able to add 40 highly regulated institutions to transact and trade over $40 billion dollars.
Most recently, Welch served as an investment banker at Young America Capital helping insurance and technology companies raise capital, develop strategic partnerships and develop new business. He has been recognized by industry publications The Insurance Insider and Trading Risk as a young person already making an impact in the insurance markets.
