"Red, Set, Walk" with Renwood Winery, a Proud Supporter of Heart Walk

PLYMOUTH, Calif., Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Renwood Winery in California's Amador Foothills is taking a healthy message to heart this fall with a program to support fitness awareness and social responsibility. For four months, the winery will operate their Renwood Heart Fund (#RHF) and donate $1 from every bottle sold of their award-winning Zinfandels and Clarion red blend to the American Heart Association and its "My Heart. My Life." initiative, with a goal of $20,000. "My Heart. My Life." program offers tips and information for healthier living, including weight loss, nutrition and stress management.

Renwood winemaker Joe Shebl already takes the program's recommendations, literally, to heart, including mountain biking in the vineyard and eating a balanced diet. Throughout the promotion, both Shebl and Renwood chef Carolyn Kumpe will share their own tips and recipes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as on a live online show with ToutSuite on August 25th. Consumers can participate by sharing pictures and stories of their own healthy lifestyle and Heart Walk support activities.

"I've always believed wine is part of a healthy lifestyle," said Shebl, "and I'll be adding a #RHF or #AHA hash tag to many of my posts over the next few months. You can catch me wearing my Renwood ear buds while I work out."  The winery is selling red ear buds in their tasting room and online for $2, contributing 100% to the Renwood Heart Fund. Additionally, Shebl says that any photos posted by consumers on social media platforms that utilize the #RHF hash tag also earn a $1 donation to the Renwood Heart Fund.

On September 20, 2014, Shebl and other Renwood employees will participate on the Renwood Team in the Sacramento Heart & Stroke Walk, celebrating those who have made lifestyle changes and encouraging others to live healthier lifestyles.
