Redline Fuels Public Safety Operations at G-20

- Wireless Connectivity a key component of real-time security monitoring system -

TORONTO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Redline Communications Group Inc. ("Redline") (TSX: RDL), a leading global supplier of secure wireless broadband products, and the only vendor in its class to achieve Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) 140-2 certification, today announced that the Company's wireless radio system was used by Canada's Department of National Defence (DND) to provide secure wireless connectivity for the G-20 held in June 2010 in Toronto, Ontario.

The DND used Redline radios to create a perimeter of complete broadband coverage where many different types of security devices were installed. This included an intelligent entry and exit control system, a complete video surveillance network, and security monitoring points. This system was overlaid with a Digital Topographic Support System (DTSS), whereby all movement within the perimeter of the wireless coverage could be tracked via GPS and monitored throughout the duration of the event, giving operators advance warning of any security breaches. The Redline wireless infrastructure was installed and supported by Ottawa, Ontario-based Enduria Wireless Solutions. Having worked extensively with the Canadian DND, Enduria has a keen understanding of the security and reliability that the DND expects from their networking equipment.

The FIPS standard provides stringent third-party assurance of security claims on any product containing cryptography that may be purchased by a government agency to protect sensitive government data in computer and telecommunication systems. The FIPS 140-2 standard is a joint effort by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States, and the Communications Security Establishment (CSEC), under the Canadian government.
