Region 4 and Proximity Learning Partner to offer Revolutionary New Online Classes in Texas
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Proximity Learning, Inc. (PLI) and the Texas Region 4 Education Service Center (Region 4) have announce an exciting new partnership. This partnership will marry PLI's expertise and success implementing virtual teachers with Region 4's unparalleled curriculum to create an engaging online experience for students across Texas enabling students to learn from actual "live" teachers online streamed into the classroom.
Some of the courses school districts will be able to choose from include Elementary to HS Chinese, American Sign Language, Latin, AP US Government, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and Humanities. In addition Region 4 will be developing an array of new courses each year for school districts to choose from.
As any educator knows, the most important element of a student's success is the actual teacher in front of that class. Having understood this, PLI was founded six years ago to provide school districts in Texas with the ability to offer an online class using a live certified teacher. This revolutionary approach has consistently provided districts with student pass rates of over 90%.
We spoke with Proximity Learning's CEO, Evan Erdberg, who stated:
"Virtual K-12 Staffing is not a way to replace teachers, but a way to provide a highly qualified teacher when one cannot be found. Every student, no matter where they live or their economic situation, is entitled to the same quality of instruction and should be offered the same options. Our Partnership with Region 4 will enable any district in Texas to now place a great teacher in front of every student using un-paralleled Curriculum when a teacher can't be hired locally."
For over 45 years, Region 4 has focused on providing responsive and effective support that promotes student success and allows the flexibility of resources to target the specific needs of students and communities across TX. Region 4 serves a seven-county area representing more than1.1 million students, 87,000 educators, and 1,500 campuses.
Pam Wells, Executive Director of Region 4 has said the following the new partnership with Proximity Learning:
"The partnership between Region 4 and Proximity Learning allows us to expand the number of quality online courses, aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, offered to the school districts we serve. Districts can then provide students with opportunities to enroll in online courses they may not otherwise have available at their school."
