
Regional Conference to Highlight Integration, Innovation: Hartford's two-way integration system is national model

WHAT:
The Connecticut Supreme Court ruled in 1996 that segregation in Hartford and area public schools violated the Connecticut Constitution. As a result, more than a third of Hartford Black and Latino children attend integrated schools, including 40 interdistrict magnet schools in participating suburban districts. But more needs to be done to guarantee the right of every Hartford student to a quality integrated education. Sponsored by One Nation Indivisible and the Sheff Movement, "Where Integration Meets Innovation," will highlight best practices and examine new options. The two-day conference includes:
