Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park Expands Rehabilitation Services by Joint Venture with The University of Kansas Hospital
KANSAS CITY, Kan., Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park, at 5100 Indian Creek Parkway, will partner with The University of Kansas Hospital to provide services for patients locally and throughout the Midwest.
The joint venture will provide additional capacity for rehab patients from The University of Kansas Hospital, and will connect to the Overland Park facility's Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, the only one of its kind in the metropolitan area.
The patient care programs at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park will be directed by The University of Kansas Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians.
The University of Kansas Hospital opened a state-of-the-art 29-bed comprehensive rehabilitation unit in 2014 and patient volumes have remained high since the opening. The hospital sought additional capacity in Johnson County and determined the partnership with the Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park was the right move.
