"Our Gold Triangle Award winners are to be commended for their efforts to increase awareness of dermatologic conditions and encourage healthy behaviors in the care of skin, hair and nails," said dermatologist William D. James, MD, FAAD, president of the American Academy of Dermatology. "By educating people about problems involving their skin, hair and nails, and encouraging them to seek the expert care of a dermatologist, these programs and initiatives have the potential to improve the quality of life for many individuals."
Reilly's team created the "Little Red Bumps" campaign to deliver entertaining yet educational information on ways to manage severe dry skin and the dry skin associated with Keratosis Pilaris (KP). KP is a little-known, inherited and incurable skin condition that affects 40 percent of the world's population and often first appears in a person's teens, according to the AAD. The AAD presented Reilly and AmLactin® with the Gold Triangle award to commend the focal point of the campaign, the website www.LittleRedBumps.com. The site was designed to meet the challenge of optimizing engagement with younger audiences and is chock-full of skin care tips from the well-established and highly-regarded dermatologist, Dr. Alan Fleischer, professor and chair of the Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. LittleRedBumps.com also includes do-it-yourself beauty tips and entertaining, original videos and music presented by its virtual spokesperson, Laurie Rose a.k.a. Miss Little Red Bumps.
"This is The Reilly Group's second Gold Triangle Award from AAD so we are particularly pleased because it serves as further validation of our ability to help health and beauty brands have a unique and engaging conversation with their target consumers," said Susan Reilly, president of The Reilly Group. "Our creative direction on this campaign is devoted to depicting a true-to-life look at caring for your skin and finding beauty in yourself even when you hit bumps in life, literally and figuratively. It is really an honor to be among the group of prestigious winners acknowledged for their skin care expertise."
