Remarriage Showcase for Encore Brides™ Event Debuts in Metropolitan Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, May 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Paula Bisacre, entrepreneur and publisher of http://www.RemarriageWorks.com, along with A Splash of Elegance, a wedding and event management company in Reston, Virginia, are co-hosting the premier bridal showcase for remarrying brides on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at River Creek Club at 43800 Olympic Blvd. in Leesburg, VA from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

This first-of-its-kind showcase in the metropolitan Washington DC area will cater to the unique needs of brides who will be marrying a second (or subsequent) time. Over one million remarriages take place in the United States annually.

Remarrying brides, typically in their mid-30s and older, report that it is easier to find a diet they can stick to than to find helpful remarriage resources. Since 65% of remarriages include children, wedding planning also includes preparation for stepfamily living.

This tailored, exclusive event will include a wedding vendor showcase featuring encore wedding attire, along with experts in the areas of travel and wedding planning. For remarried and stepfamily living, expert exhibitors include: estate planning, family law, financial advice, stepfamily counseling and coaching, insurance, and more.

"When I was getting remarried, I felt like there wasn't an expo or show that met my needs for where I was in life," said Paula Bisacre, who founded Remarriage LLC and publishes RemarriageWorks.com, a first-of-its-kind resource that provides practical solutions and advice for remarrieds and blended families, including information on relationship issues, family/child-rearing, financial planning, legal matters, and wedding planning and etiquette.

Results of a survey conducted by Remarriage LLC illustrate that there is a need for a "go to" remarriage resource. A survey of 1,000 nationally representative Americans, ages 18 and over, conducted in March, 2008 by Remarriage LLC reveals that:

31% of remarrieds or those considering remarriage want more access to relationship, legal and financial advice or information, including matters such as sex, past marriages, custody, wills, estate planning, combining finances and making major purchases.

More than one in four say they need guidance on blended families.

There is currently no definitive resource on remarriage:

41% seek advice and information from family and friends.

27% turn to their churches or places of worship.

15% read books on the subject.

Less that 1% have sought information from existing magazines, such as traditional bridal magazines and lifestyle publications.
