Remedy Informatics to Provide New Technology Platform for the American Society of Clinical Oncology's (ASCO) Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI)

ASCO is upgrading its current QOPI registry technology to meet evolving data collection, analysis and management needs. The goal is to implement a more flexible system that will allow ASCO staff to update the system and conduct routine changes as needed. With the new registry system in place, participating practices will be able to report data from a variety of sources, including direct entry and EHRs, into the QOPI system and receive feedback on the program's quality measures and their progress in improving cancer care. The goal of the QOPI program is to create a culture of self-examination and improvement among oncology providers, and feasible, actionable quality reporting remains the core focus of the program.

Data submitted by participating practices is aggregated into a central database and analyzed according to detailed specifications for more than 170 ASCO quality measures. Currently, nearly 300 practices submit their data each reporting round to QOPI for analysis and feedback.
