Remy Adds Light-Duty Products to Heavy-Duty Distributor Offering
PENDLETON, Ind., Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Remy International, Inc., the manufacturer and distributor of Delco Remy brand heavy-duty starters and alternators, announced today that Remy brand light-duty commercial vehicle products will also be available through traditional Delco Remy distribution channels.
This single-source distribution model is significant for Remy's customers, who will now have easy and fast access to all the rotating electrics necessary to support highly efficient fleet operations.
"Most medium and heavy truck fleet operators have a number of smaller vehicles, such as walk-in trucks, delivery vehicles and pick-ups supporting their operation," said Eric Bippus, senior vice president of Aftermarket Sales and Marketing. The Remy brand light-duty product catalog contains more than two hundred new part numbers for Class 1–3 trucks manufactured by Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, and Dodge, including the Sprinter nameplate, from 1995 to the present. The consolidation of this catalog with the existing heavy-duty offering gives Delco Remy's distributors access to all starters and alternators required by their fleet customers for Class 1 through Class 8 trucks.
