BRUSSELS, January 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
- The Group now has its own Interbank Code and Will Request Extension to Other European Countries
- Rentabiliweb is Also Launching a Drive to Extend This Accreditation in Order to Join the SWIFT Network and Handle Debit and Bank Transfer Operations Without Intermediaries
In compliance with the 11 October 2010 decision of the Banque de France's Autorite de Controle Prudentiel (ACP), the French equivalent of the UK Financial Services Authority, Rentabiliweb's accreditation as a bankcard payment institution in order to provide payment services is now definitive and confirmed. Rentabiliweb has had its own dedicated interbank code since the beginning of the year.
This accreditation now enables Rentabiliweb to market its innovative, optimized bankcard payment solution on Internet and mobile phones to all French online retailers. The Group is now authorized by law to provide payment services as per Article L314-1 II of the French Monetary and Financial Code, namely categories 3 and 5, i.e. execution of bank transfers, including standing orders, issuing of payment methods and acquisition of payment orders via bankcard. It also enables Rentabiliweb to offer custody services, as well as data recording and processing services.
After signing contracts with several major French banks specialized in financial transactions and strengthening its PCI-DSS platform to greatly increase its current transaction capacity, Rentabiliweb intends to assist the international growth of its future online retail clients by applying for several European passports under the Free Provision of Services (FPS) regime. Its top-priority countries, given their potential in terms of online sales, are the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Spain and Luxembourg.
The Group also plans to extend its payment services to regular or one-time bank debits, in order to offer French online retailers a full range of highly-secure payment services, providing online consumers with a smoother, simpler, more effective shopping experience.
"Rentabiliweb will launch its full solution in a few months" states Jean-Baptiste Descroix-Vernier, Chairman of Rentabiliweb Group. "By becoming the first "Internet native" to obtain accreditation as a bankcard pay institution, the Group is in an excellent position to optimize and modernize European online payment processes."
Finally, the Group is also launching a drive to recruit e-payment professionals to strengthen its current technical teams and provide customer relations services.
