Replay Games Hires Game Industry Veteran Josh Mandel and Announces Original IP Adventure Game

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Replay Games Inc. announces Josh Mandel as Chief Creative Officer, and announces retro adventure game, Fester Mudd: The Curse of the Gold, due in January 2012 on Mac, PC, iOS, and Android.

Replay Games Inc., has named Josh Mandel as Chief Creative Officer. Mandel is the former Director of the Sierra-Online Product Design Department and the former Director of Game Design at Sega of America. Mandel has designed, written, and/or produced more than 40 games for Broderbund, Microsoft, Legend, Sierra, Vicarious Visions, Sega, Midway, and Hasbro. Replay added Mandel as an officer because of his strong background in gaming and for his exceptional creative talent.

Mandel has already had a major impact on Replay's flagship franchise, Leisure Suit Larry. Mandel has injected his special brand of creativity on the story and dialogue of Replay's remake of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. Mandel's collaboration on the latest title only adds to his long list of popular titles he has worked on including Space Quest, Carmen Sandiego, and Freddy Pharkas.

Replay also announced its new retro styled adventure game, Fester Mudd: The Curse of the Gold, which is due in January 2012 on Mac, PC, iOS, and Android. Fester Mudd is a throwback to the old school adventure games that dominated gaming in the 80's and 90's. With a western theme and strong comedic elements, Fester Mudd will be Replay's first original intellectual property adventure title. Al Lowe, famed creator of the Leisure Suit Larry series, raved about the game, "I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. Actually, that crying part is a lie. Fester is a good ol' timey adventure game in the true spirit of Sierra's best games!"

Replay has partnered with Finnish game developer Prank Entertainment to develop the title. Self-professed adventure game addicts, Prank brings a unique style and point of view on the western theme. Fester Mudd has officially been placed onto Steam's new Greenlight process, whereby the Steam community reviews and votes on their favorite submissions.
