PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Republic First Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: FRBK), the holding company for Republic Bank, today announced that it completed through a private placement the sale of $45 million of its common stock at a price of $3.80 per share. The original proposed offering amount of $25 million was increased by $20 million due to the significant level of interest.
The Company's capital ratios at March 31, 2014 and on a pro-forma basis after giving effect to the offering are as follows:

After giving pro-forma effect to the offering, the book value of the Company's stock would have increased to $2.91 per share at March 31, 2014. Assuming the future reversal of the deferred tax asset valuation allowance, the book value would increase by $0.40 per share. The Company will file a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to register the shares sold in the private placement.

The Bank opened its new and distinctive glass store in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on March 1, 2014 and will open a new store in Voorhees, New Jersey on May 10, 2014.
There are plans for additional stores in Marlton, Moorestown, Mount Holly, Medford, Glassboro, Washington Township, Berlin and a second store in Cherry Hill.
