TUSCALOOSA, Ala., June 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Alabama Federation of Republican Women is celebrating the Fourth of July by its completion of a patriotic and inspiring documentary video on the Constitution's unalienable right of liberty.  Titled "Give Me Liberty", taken from the quote of Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775, the video explains America's source of Liberty and how The United States Constitutional Republic differs from tyrannical forms of government.

Michele Waller, as chair of the state federation's Caring for America Committee, produced, directed and scripted the Documentary.  She stated, "The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as written made America a 'city on a hill' and a beacon for hope and freedom.  For over 200 years, immigrants from all over the world came to America to escape repressive and tyrannical governments.  No other forms of government can hold a torch to the liberties and opportunities available to citizens within America's shores."

The "Give Me Liberty" video features interviews with refugees who escaped Cuba, Afghanistan and Czechoslovakia, as well as KCarl Smith, author of Frederick Douglass Republicans who discusses the "Liberty" that Douglass helped extend to all Americans. The production further addresses the warning signs for movement to a Marxist society as well as opposing ideologies.

Ms. Waller stated, "Vigilance is the shield. The video reminds citizens that with the passage of the Bill of Rights our Founding Fathers emphasized that the federal government, not just some foreign entity, is a great threat to the liberties Americans take for granted.  The compelling personal stories of the people in the video alert us to the dangers we face if Liberty should fail."

The president of the Alabama Federation of Republican Women, Elois Zeanah, praised the documentary and stated, "As we all enjoy our barbecues, fireworks, family reunions, etc., we should all remember that the Fourth of July celebrates the birth of our country, an event we all should celebrate and give continual thanks for.  It is our responsibility to protect America's liberties in order to pass our inheritance of Liberty to the next generation."

The 50-minute documentary video is available to any civic, church, school or other organization upon request.  Contact Michele Waller at
