ReputationWar Conference in Paris to Feature Exceptional, Rarely-Heard Speakers on Online Reputation Management

Every day that passes brings us further proof: reputation management in a connected world has never been more complex for brands, organisations and public figures. Contributing to the debate, the colloquium ReputationWar to be held on 17 January 2014 in Paris will provide leading insight into the key issues at stake.

Organised by Christophe Ginisty in partnership with Syntec RP and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), ReputationWar will be a unique chance to hear contributions from leading figures who are not regular public speakers on these subjects.

Among them, Hisham Zaazou, Egypt's Minister for Tourism, will make a special trip to France to give his account of the global emotion aroused by the political climate in his country and the difficulties encountered in reassuring the world's tourist population which is so crucial to the nation's economy.

Jacques-Emmanuel Saulnier, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications at Total, will talk about managing the reputation of the largest company in France and the issues it faces.

Paul Hilder, Vice-President of Global campaigns at the world's most powerful petition platform Change.org and also a widely-acknowledged authority on internet politics, will look at the mechanisms conducive to web user activism and mobilisation.

At a time when the French Parliament is challenging the legal business form of autoentrepreneur, Adrien Sergent, a young web surfer from Marseille behind the "Poussins" movement, will share his experience and explain how, from a simple petition, he ended up running a community with over 150,000 members and received an invitation for a one-on-one meeting with the minister responsible.

Certain members of the Government are in favour of taxing financial transactions taking place outside of official control. Alexandre Boucherot, CEO and founder of the leading French crowdfunding platform Ulule.com, will present a business review and for the first time will reveal figures on the levels of funding that its members have succeeded in raising.

Stan de Parcevaux, Head of Marketing of Orangina Schweppes, at the helm of the communication of one of the most popular brands in France, will explain the weight of emotional attachment that motivates and retains consumers.

Julien Villeret, Head of Communications at SFR, one the main mobile telephone operators, will take a look at the multitude of crowd movements occurring in his sector and the way his organisation anticipates and deals with them.

Eric Walter, Secretary General of Hadopi, one of the most controversial bodies in France ever since its inception and at the source of numerous debate-triggering cultural and technological issues, will give evidence on the difficulty of managing one's personal reputation in this type of situation.

These top-level speakers and others to be announced in the near future will provide vital and valuable insight to anyone who wishes to understand the emerging significance of crowd behaviour in image and reputation management in a social media age; a phenomenon the organisers have christened "Sentimental Crowds".
