RES Americas Announces Hiring of Patrick Welch as Chief Financial Officer

BROOMFIELD, Colo., May 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. (RES Americas) announced the hiring of Patrick Welch as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  Mr. Welch comes to RES Americas from Atlantic Power Corporation (TSX: ATP; NYSE: AT), a Boston-based, public company in the independent power and transmission business, where he currently serves as CFO. Mr. Welch will begin at RES Americas in mid-June.

Mr. Welch brings more than twenty years of experience in financial roles within both the energy and electric power industry. Before working for Atlantic Power Corporation, Mr. Welch served as Vice President and Controller for DCP Midstream, a Denver-based midstream natural gas company. From 2000 through 2003, Mr. Welch held various finance and accounting positions at Dynegy, Inc. in Houston, Texas, including Vice President and Controller of Dynegy Generation and Assistant Corporate Controller.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Welch spent ten years in public accounting in the audit practices of Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
