Researchers from 50 Countries to Convene in London for the Computing Conference 2017

LONDON, June 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 250 leading experts and researchers from across the world will attend the Computing Conference 2017 which will take place in London, UK next month. Venue is Hilton London Kensington.

Running from 18 – 20 July, this event will focus on the trends in technology and various experts will explore a plethora of topics such as: artificial intelligence, machine learning, high-performance computing, data science, security, IoT, robotics.

The conference provides an opportunity for attendees from more than 50 countries to get inspired and informed by the noted scientists and reputed speakers. Also, it covers the discussion-oriented sessions to share new ideas, research results and the development experiences in various fields.

In three days, the conference will host a total of 6 keynotes and 200+ paper presentations organized into thirty sessions. The program also offers various networking opportunities including an evening reception which will give attendees the chance to mingle with other researchers after a day full of speakers, meetings, and thought-provoking topics. Each of the keynote speakers will touch base on very specific research areas and provide insights into their current work and future opportunities. Prof. Siobhán Clarke from the Trinity College Dublin will explore how automated communication and collaboration, using real-time decision-making, can play a part in assisting citizens in making better use of the available resources.

Prof Volker Markl from Technische Universitat Berlin says, "We will discuss about how our research activities have led to Apache Flink, an open-source big data analytics system, which by now has become a major data processing engine in the Apache Big Data Stack, used in a variety of applications by academia and industry."

Prof Nikola Šerbedžija, a scientific advisor at Fraunhofer FOKUS, believes that humans are inevitably exposed to unpredictable influences of current technical advances. Due to this, an inclusion of protective mechanisms in the early design phase of systems is now essential. Prof Šerbedžija will discuss about this new paradigm called Real-Life Computing which uses the context-dependent real-life experience as a constraint upon which a new generation of systems should be validated.

The conference is chaired by Professor Liming Chen from the De Montfort University, United Kingdom. He is a grant holder of Research Projects funded by national (EPSRC, DEL), European (FP7, AAL) funding bodies and industry partners (SAP and IN2). His research focuses on context computing, agent based intelligent systems, human machine interaction, data and knowledge engineering and their applications specifically in the domain of smart environments, smart cyber physical systems and assistive living.
