CINCINNATI, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. (WHI), an industry-leading hotel management company headquartered in Blue Ash, Ohio, has announced that the pre-opening sales office for the first Marriott-branded hotel in the downtown Cincinnati central business district is open for business. Residence Inn Cincinnati Downtown's sales office is fielding inquiries and working with organizations on extended stay and group contract business.

David Meisner will serve as general manager where he will oversee the hotel's daily operations and sales efforts. Meisner is a 12-year industry veteran, most recently serving as the assistant general manager at the Cincinnati Marriott North. Vicky Hild has more than 20 years in the hospitality industry and joins the hotel from Marriott International where she was an area sales leader. Hild has been named sales account manager for the Cincinnati hotel and will be responsible for group sales, extended stays, preferred accounts and community relations.

"We're receiving a lot of interest from the business community," Meisner stated. "The opening of a Marriott hotel in downtown Cincinnati is much anticipated. Located at 506 East 4th Street, the Residence Inn is in walking distance to many Fortune 500 companies, cultural venues and many other attractions."

Owned by Western Southern Financial Group and Eagle Realty and managed by WHI, the hotel is slated to open in April 2011 and is a conversion of the historic Phelps building which dates back to 1926. The building has long-standing ties in the community and is surrounded by historic points of interest including the Taft Museum, which was once the homestead of Charles Phelps Taft, the half brother of William Howard Taft, 27th President of the United States. The all-suite, extended stay hotel's 134 one- and two-bedroom suites will offer some of downtown's largest guest rooms, most with expansive views. Each suite will feature separate living and work spaces, a fully-equipped kitchen, complimentary high-speed Internet access, a work desk with ergonomic seating and flat panel high-definition TVs. Bar 506 will offer an urban contemporary design with hand crafted cocktails, premium wines, small plates and seasonal veranda seating overlooking Lytle Park or around the fire pit in the courtyard, a unique downtown experience.

"Downtown's Residence Inn finds a balance between the history and old-world splendor of a building in the city of Cincinnati and the modern styling of a first-class hotel," Meisner added. "The downtown Cincinnati extended stay hotel is ideal for guests and a one-of-a-kind addition to the city."

Guest amenities will include complimentary hot breakfast; evening receptions; a fitness center; and The Market, which provides guests 24/7 access to a food and beverage pantry.

The pre-opening sales office is located in downtown Cincinnati at 550 East Fourth Street and can be reached at 513-651-1234. Visit for additional details. Call 513-794-2459 to access the Residence Inn Cincinnati Downtown job line.
